This diffuser uses ultrasonic diffusion, which is a form of diffusion that relies on ultrasonic vibrations rather than heat. Ultrasonic vibrations agitate the water, which causes a separation of the essential oil molecules and releases negative particles into the air as a fine mist. The water is the transference mechanism — no steam, no heat!
