Learn More About Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA
The official omega-3 of the American Pregnancy Association, Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA generously fulfills the recommended daily serving of omega-3 DHA for pregnant and lactating women, and includes 400 IU vitamin D3 for added immune support.*
Pregnancy and motherhood is no small feat — odds are good you’re going to need all the nutritional help you can get! Omega-3s are essential for neurological and early visual development of babies in the womb. Unfortunately, the standard American diet is severely deficient in essential fatty acids.
When there isn’t an ample supply of Omega-3s for the developing baby, the mother’s body becomes depleted as it tries to supply the fetus with enough omega-3s as it develops. With each subsequent pregnancy, the mother can become further depleted.
The American Pregnancy Association has affirmed that research shows adding EPA and DHA to the diet, through both food and supplementation, has a positive effect on the visual, cognitive, and neurological development of the baby. Studies have also shown that higher consumption of omega-3s may also reduce the risk of allergies in infants.
But Omega-3s are helpful for pregnant mothers too. Increased intake of EPA and prenatal DHA can help to prevent pre-term labor and delivery, lower the risk of preeclampsia, and may also help to decrease the risk of depression following birth.
Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA contains:
- EPA: 205 mg
- DHA: 480 mg
- Other Omega-3s: 145 mg
- Total Omega-3s: 830 mg
- Vitamin D3: 400 IU
Prenatal DHA is a pure and fresh source of the omega-3s that your growing baby needs for brain and nervous system development, and that support a healthy pregnancy for you.* These soft gels are small and easy to swallow, and created in the triglyceride molecular form. This form is a whole-food form, which is the most easily absorbed and utilized by your body so you can get maximum Omega-3 support from your prenatal DHA supplement.
