Sandalwood has been revered for centuries in India and other parts of the Far East. Sandalwood and Sandalwood essential oil are prized in the field of alternative medicine, such as Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. It is also used in many perfumes and incense for its rich, grounding aroma.
Beyond its use in fragrances, however, this Organic Sandalwood Essential Oil offers benefits to mind and body as well. Sandalwood is a calming oil which helps reduce nervous tension and agitated emotions. It is one of the premier oils for use in meditation by helping to quiet ‘mental chatter’.

In aromatherapy, Organic Sandalwood Essential Oil is revered for its ability to promote mental clarity and calm. It can ease a troubled mind, allowing room for quiet problem-solving and the sorting through of difficult emotions or problems. This ability is why it is so often used during meditation, prayer, and in various rituals around the world.
When diffused, organic sandalwood essential oil can help to dislodge congestion in the lungs and throat. Diffusion may help get rid of a lingering cough.
In topical use, organic sandalwood essential oil has a unique reputation as a natural aphrodisiac. When mixed with a massage oil, it is reputed to help gently increase libido.
Sandalwood essential oil is also a mild astringent. This means it is helpful (when combined with a carrier oil) to soothe, tighten, and tone the skin. It may also help to fight acne and reduce the appearance of dark spots. Sandalwood essential oil will also help to ease mild inflammation caused by bug bites, contact irritation, and other mild skin conditions.

Suggested Use: Add 6 drops of Sandalwood to two teaspoons of carrier oil for a warm, soothing massage blend. To reduce nervous tension, add 10 drops Sandalwood and 5 drops Neroli to a personal inhaler and inhale when needed.
Cautions: Do not use undiluted on skin. Keep out of the reach of children. If pregnant, consult your physician before use. We do not recommend the ingestion of essential oils.
