Plant Therapy Organic Bergamot Essential Oil

Organic Bergamot Essential Oils is one of the most versatile oils, with dozens of therapeutic benefits for the whole body.* It’s perfect for tossing into your skincare regimen, your first-aid kit, or among your go-to oils to diffuse throughout the day for de-stressing and relaxation.

Bergamot is actually in the citrus family and comes from the bergamot orange plant. It has a delightfully sweet, citrus scent with light floral notes. Thanks to its aromatic profile, bergamot essential oil has made its way into many skincare and hair care products, perfumes, and even Earl Grey Tea!

Plant Therapy Organic Bergamot Essential Oil is cold-pressed from the bergamot orange fruits of Italy, where the health benefits of this plant have been utilized for hundreds of years.

  • Botanical Name: Citrus bergamia
  • Aromatic Scent: Citrusy and fruity with a warm spicy floral quality
  • Strength of Aroma: Medium
  • Country of Origin: Italy
  • Extraction Method: Cold Pressed
  • Plant Part: Fruit Peel
  • Kid Safe: Yes

Like many essential oils, and especially those in the citrus family, the aromatherapeutic properties of organic bergamot essential oil include the ability to help you destress and cheer up. It relieves worry and helps you look on the bright side of things.*

When diffused, organic bergamot essential oil will repel outdoor invaders, such as mosquitoes and other pests. Add a few drops to a tiki-torch wick or whip up your own DIY insect repellent spray.*

If you’ve got a headache, this essential oil may be able to help you out. Some people also report that bergamot essential oil helps to relieve neuropathic discomfort.*

Topically, organic bergamot essential oil helps balance oily skin and gently helps to unclog pores. It sloughs away excess oil and can help eliminate skin issues. This makes it a great option for teenagers. For an upset tummy, add bergamot oil to a carrier oil and rub it gently into the abdomen to relieve nausea and loss of appetite.*

Like other citrus essential oils, bergamot essential oils may cause sun-sensitivity. In the bergamot plant, the compound responsible for this reaction is bergapten. When exposed to UV rays, it can increase your risk of sunburn.

Plant Therapy’s Organic Bergamot Essential Oil is bergapten-free, so it is completely safe for use in the sun!
