Treating Adrenal Fatigue: How to Recover from Adrenal Fatigue Quickly

So you’ve got some adrenal fatigue symptoms, and now you need to know how to treat them. Okay — So, yes! It is possible! There are natural ways to treat adrenal fatigue.

#1 Diet: Our first tip for treating adrenal fatigue is to evaluate your diet.

Avoid processed meats, processed oils, too many carbohydrates — instead, opt for organic, free-range meats, and healthy fats from wild-caught fish, avocados, olives, and coconut. Also, fill up your plate with exotic vegetables that pique your curiosity — like romanesco! Don’t know what that is? It’s a beautiful cruciferous vegetable related to broccoli, and your adrenal glands will love it! Nuts and seeds, bone broth, fermented foods, kelp, and seaweed are more examples of foods that will help you recover from adrenal fatigue.

But the MOST important way to support your adrenals? STOP your caffeine and sugar intake. These are the two biggest triggers that will only make your adrenal fatigue worse. Whether caused by the environment, a physical injury or infection, a life event, childhood trauma, unstable family dynamics, school, or your career… too much stress will burn out your adrenals over time.

To help avoid adrenal fatigue, or fix adrenal fatigue if it’s already an issue, the #1 thing you need to do is limit the stress in your life! This might look like seeing a new doctor or specialist… going to counseling… changing the people you spend time with… or asking for help at home so you can get some rest. 

It’s all about balance. Try to take care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally and give yourself lots of grace. Your adrenals didn’t reach this state of exhaustion overnight, so it will take some intentional time to nurture them back to health.

Rest when you feel tired, get to bed by 10pm, and choose gentle exercise routines — yoga is one of the best forms of exercise for adrenal fatigue!
