Are you trying to figure out what to do for irritable bowel syndrome? Finding a way to improve this uncomfortable condition is tricky — but possible! In this video i’m going to be sharing five natural solutions for irritable bowel syndrome. So you can ditch the tummy trouble and get back to enjoying your health. Let’s jump right in!

Hi, I’m Andy from The Healthy Place, Wisconsin’s number-one vitamin and nutrition store. We’re passionate about helping people learn, grow, and create their best lives possible. If you’re new here, consider subscribing.

Alright, so you’re facing irritable bowel syndrome such as diarrhea, constipation, bloating, gas, or just general consistent pain in the abdomen. It’s no fun, and obviously, you want to find some relief. Well, thankfully, there are natural solutions for irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS for short, and today I want to share with you five ideas that can help ease your stomach issues and get you going in the right direction. Here we go!

1. TAKE A DIET INVENTORY

Take a close look at the foods you’re eating and the beverages you’re drinking to check for any potential allergens or triggers. Let’s face it — we are what we eat! It could be that the pain you’re experiencing exists simply because your digestive system isn’t able to handle the food that you’re eating. Allergens and food sensitivities are huge triggers for people who struggle with any kinds of digestive issues including IBS.

I recommend tracking what you eat daily with a food diary and also checking with your doctor about doing a food allergy test or trying an elimination diet. The most common food allergens in the US are cow milk, chicken eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, and soy. In addition, insoluble fibers such as spinach, cabbage, and kale are used. Caffeine and even sugar can be very irritating to inflamed intestines so limiting those can have a huge impact as well. Moving on to my second tip for supporting IBS!

2. TAKE A PROBIOTIC

Maybe you were on antibiotics sometime in the past, or you’ve dealt with surgery or disease that led to intestinal distress. Whatever the case may be, it’s important to make sure that you do everything you can to rebalance and maintain the good bacteria in your gut’s microbiome. But don’t just take any probiotic — make sure that it’s a good quality probiotic that’s diverse and has a lot of strains in it that are good for your gut.

Many of our customers use and love the Flora Basilica — 25 Billion for daily gut support. And also, adding in fermented foods like sauerkraut or kefir are great ways to diversify your probiotic choices. And if you want to learn more about gut health and probiotics, check out the show notes below for a video we just put out that goes into more detail on the health benefits of probiotics.

3. VITAMINS

When it comes to IBS, a lot of people wonder what vitamins are good for irritable bowel syndrome, and HCP Formulas Abzorb – Vitamin Nutrient Optimizer — is it! Abzorb is an advanced blend of probiotics enzymes and ozonated magnesium that help to create optimal nutrient absorption. Why is this important? Well, when you’ve got irritable bowel syndrome, your intestines aren’t able to absorb nutrients effectively because of the inflammation. Which not only affects your gut health but also your energy levels, hormones, skin health, and moreHCP Formulas Obzorb supports your gut’s ability to absorb nutrients and can also soothe some IBS symptoms, such as bloating or irregular bowel movements.

By the way — I’ve linked all the products that I suggest in this video in the show notes below because i want to help make it easy and simple for you to find the relief that you need.

4. INFLAMMATION

Okay — so now we’ve made it to the fourth tip in our natural solutions list for irritable bowel syndrome and this one has to do with inflammation. Who could have guessed it! Inflammation is at the center of most things, and whether you have arthritis, IBS, chronic pain, or acute pain — all types of pain have one thing in common, and that is inflammation. One of the best ways to combat inflammation in the body is to reduce oxidative stress and increase circulation. One way that we would like to do this is with Curcumin. Terry Naturally’s Curamed is a powerful antioxidant that combines the well-known healing power of turmeric’s curcumin with turmeric essential oil. It’s highly potent and will be very helpful for treating that discomfort in your gut.

Now, we’ve talked about diet and supplements for irritable bowel syndrome, but one thing that we haven’t touched on yet that is vital is:

5. LIFESTYLE

If you’re suffering from IBS symptoms I’d highly encourage you to do whatever you can to reduce stress in your life. This could look like getting more sleep, taking on yoga, or exercising. Maybe starting counseling or doing more things that you enjoy like just getting out in nature. Research tells us that stress and anxiety affect the way your gut and brain work together, so treating your mental health along with your physical health is extremely important. Stress is a very common trigger for people with IBS.

Alright, that was a lot of information, but I hope it was helpful. If you have any questions about how to support irritable bowel syndrome or want to learn more about the IBS supplements that we recommend, do not hesitate to ask!
