Plant Therapy Organic Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint is a perennial herb that thrives in Europe, North America, and Asia. This low-growing, leafy plant produces smooth, jewel-like, dark green leaves with clusters of small, pink and lavender flowers.
Traditional use of peppermint dates back centuries, originating in India where it was well-loved for its revitalizing and cooling properties. Plant Therapy Organic Peppermint Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the mint plant, and offers a strong aromatic scent that is fresh, cool, and fiercely minty.
To the mind and emotions, organic peppermint essential oil offers a unique ability to sharply promote energy and mental clarity. Its invigorating aroma seems to tell the mind, “Hey! It’s time to calm down and focus on the task at hand!” Its strong scent is unique in that it is simultaneously invigorating, provides energy and focus, while also relieving stress, restlessness, and anxiety.
Inhaling organic peppermint essential oil will immediately begin to help clear the nasal passages of congestion, ease symptoms of sinusitis and bronchitis, and eases symptoms of the common cold. It can even help to alleviate asthma (though should not be considered a treatment, only a support).
For those of us prone to headaches and migraines, keep a roller bottle of organic peppermint essential oil (blended with a carrier oil of your choice) nearby. It will ease headaches and migraines, and help ward off common associated symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and noise.
Another popular use for peppermint essential oil lies in its cooling effect on the skin. Blended with a massage oil as a carrier, peppermint oil stimulates circulation at the surface of the skin. It opens up the skin pores and offers a cool, soothing ease to tired muscles and joints.
Around the house, organic peppermint essential oil continues to offer boundless uses. Add it to a spray bottle with water for a quick room refresher, or deter bugs (such as ants and spiders) by strategically leaving cotton balls soaked in organic peppermint oil where insects love to hang out. Insects hate the strong aroma of peppermint oil and will vacate the premises in a hurry!
