Qēt Botanicals Hydrating Clay Exfoliant With Tea & Lavender
A gentle exfoliant is just as important as a good cleanser when it comes to healthy, vibrant skin. Natural, pure, and free from synthetic fragrances or fillers, this hydrating clay exfoliant features purifying clay, vitamin-rich Matcha green tea, and botanical flower oils. Qēt’s beautifully and intentionally designed tea and lavender exfoliant is nature’s gateway to a fresh, firm, and bright complexion. It helps soothe dry, reactive-looking skin and supports a calmer, clearer-looking complexion.* Redness and irritation look less obvious, and uneven or reactive skin appears more toned, clearer, and brighter, allowing your beauty to shine! Now let’s peep into the immaculate line-up of ingredients that appear in this tea and lavender exfoliant from Qēt:
Lavender: Adored worldwide for its aroma and beneficial properties, this well-loved herbal flower helps comfort the skin and supports a calm, balanced-looking complexion.* It’s also a skin-cleansing superhero!
Oat Kernel: Extracted from the seeds of the Avena Sativa plant, gluten-free oat kernel flour helps soothe and hydrate skin while supporting the skin’s natural moisture barrier.* Its strong concentration of starches and beta-glucans is especially good for long-lasting, soft-skin moisture.
- Morroccan Clay: Another ancient favorite, Moroccan lava clay (or Rhassoul clay) helps restore the skin’s natural glow.* It’s rich in minerals that help it thoroughly, deeply and gently cleanse away buildup and impurities.
Matcha: Chock full of vitamins, Matcha green tea provides antioxidant support and helps leave skin feeling refreshed and looking clarified.* The polyphenols found in Matcha green tea help neutralize free radicals that can damage the skin and speed up visible signs of aging.*
Skin types that will benefit most from the effects of this hydrating exfoliant include oily and dry (combination complexion); normal with occasional blemishes or activity; and normal to dry. Through daily use, you’ll see your complexion look clearer and brighter, as dead skin cells are buffed away to reveal fresher-looking skin. Recycle the old out for the new!
How to Choose Your Exfoliant - Herbal or Clay?
Options are lovely, but sometimes we need more information in order to make the best decision! To help you choose which type of exfoliant is right for you, let’s look at the similarities and differences:
How the herbal and clay exfoliants are the same: Clay and herbal exfoliants are equal in that they both soothe, hydrate, and soften the skin. Both gently cleanse with natural ingredients for a healthy, glowing complexion.
How the herbal and clay exfoliants are different: The difference lies in how deeply they penetrate the skin, and what they’re able to pull up. Clay exfoliants are made with mineral clay that acts like a sponge, soaking up, and carrying out, trapped buildup and impurities from deep within the pores. Herbal exfoliants, on the other hand, are made with fine botanical powders, and are great for a lighter, surface pore cleansing.
How to choose: For the removal of deep-rooted impurities and buildup, the clay exfoliant is the best option.
For more tender surface cleansing, the herbal exfoliants are the way to go.
Rest assured, no matter which exfoliant you go with, your skin will be cleansed for a more vibrant complexion. It just depends on your present skin condition!
Qēt actually recommends you alternate between the two exfoliants regularly, so that your skin is receiving the special skin-loving benefits each has to offer. With ever-changing environments and unknowns, it’s best to have both on hand. You really can’t go wrong!

Step 1. Prepare face by cleansing.*
Step 2. Sprinkle a small amount of the tea and lavender exfoliant into the palm of your hand or a mask bowl. Add a small amount of cleansing oil* – enough to create a paste.
Step 3. Apply the mixture to your face and décolletage with gentle circular patterns. Be gentle and let the botanical ingredients do the work. Pass over any open spots or blemishes for now.
Step 4. Open your pores with a warm washcloth steam. Simply get a washcloth warm with wet water and dab onto your skin. Relax, breathe, and relish in the moment!
Step 5. Feel free to let the hydrating exfoliant dry onto your face as a mini-mask – three minutes is plenty to further support your complexion with botanical ingredients.*
*People often ask us if it’s okay to use the exfoliating-cleansing oil mixture as a replacement to the first step of pure cleansing oil. We recommend you do these as separate steps, but you can certainly meld the two steps together! First, massage the cleansing oil onto your face. Then, before removing with a washcloth, mix the exfoliant with cleansing oil and exfoliate as needed.
*Mixing oil with the exfoliant powder allows the ingredients to help cleanse and absorb well, which is why it’s recommended to use oil instead of water.*
Cautions: Keep out of the reach of children. If you have a negative reaction, discontinue use and consult with a health professional.

FAQs About Qēt Botanicals Hydrating Clay Exfoliant with Tea & Lavender
Q: Would this be a good pick for dry or breakout-prone skin? A: Usually, yes. The oat flour, rhassoul clay, and sugar give a gentle scrub that doesn't feel too harsh, so I'd use it for dry, combination, or blemish-prone skin, unless your skin is very sensitive.
Q: My skin gets reactive fast. Is lavender going to be a problem? A: It might be. This has both lavender flowers and lavender flower oil, so if your skin reacts to essential oils or fragrance, I'd patch test it first.
Q: Walk me through how you'd use this at home. A: Cleanse first. Then mix a small sprinkle with a little cleansing oil until it makes a paste. Massage it on gently, don't scrub hard, and use it no more than once a day.
Q: Why do you mix it with oil instead of water? A: Because that's how this one is meant to be used. The oil makes the oat flour, clay, and sugar feel more like a soft polish and less like a dry scrub.
Q: I'm seeing rhassoul clay and matcha in here. What are those doing? A: Rhassoul clay gives it that deep-clean feel. Matcha is in there too, and people usually reach for ingredients like that when their skin looks a little dull or uneven.
Q: Could I use this every day? A: You can, but I wouldn't overdo it. The directions say daily, no more than once a day. If your skin starts feeling tight or touchy, back off to a few times a week.
