Q: Does Ultra-Zyme help with bloating and that heavy feeling after meals? A: Yes, that’s a common reason people buy it. It has a broad enzyme blend, with 32,500 USP units of amylase, 32,500 USP units of protease, and 2,600 USP units of lipase per 2 tablets to help break down carbs, protein, and fat.
Q: Should I take it before I eat or after? A: I’d take the 2 tablets with meals or right around them. Most people do best with digestive enzymes when they take them with food, especially if the meal is bigger.
Q: Why does this one have ox bile in it? A: Ox bile helps with fat digestion. If rich or greasy foods tend to bother you, the 120 mg per serving may be one reason this works better for some people than a basic enzyme product.
Q: I've heard digestive enzymes can be harsh. Will this upset my stomach? A: Usually not, but it can happen. Ultra-Zyme has pepsin, bromelain, papain, and a small amount of betaine HCl, so if your stomach is very sensitive or you have ulcers or gastritis, I’d be careful and check with your doctor first.
