FAQs About Terry Naturally Tri-Iodine®

Q: Does Tri-Iodine help with thyroid function? A: Yes. It's an iodine supplement, and your thyroid uses iodine to make thyroid hormones, so people usually take it for thyroid support and healthy metabolism support.*

Q: Why does this one use three forms of iodine? A: It combines potassium iodide, sodium iodide, and molecular iodine from kelp. In the 12.5 mg capsule, that breaks down to 6,060 mcg from potassium iodide, 6,060 mcg from sodium iodide, and 380 mcg from kelp.

Q: Should I take it with food or on an empty stomach? A: With food. The suggested use is one capsule a day, and taking iodine with a meal is usually easier on the stomach.

Q: I've heard iodine can be too much for some people. Is that true? A: Yes. Because this product provides higher amounts of iodine, consult your healthcare provider before use if you have a thyroid condition or are taking medication.

Q: My doctor said to watch iodine intake. Which strength would you usually start with? A: I'd start with the lower one unless your practitioner told you otherwise. The 3 mg version gives 3,000 mcg per capsule, while the 25 mg one gives 25,000 mcg, so that's a big jump.

Q: Is this one vegetarian? A: Yeah, it uses a vegetable cellulose capsule. The other ingredients are simple too: microcrystalline cellulose and silica.

Q: Can I take Tri-Iodine while pregnant or nursing? A: I'd check with your OB or midwife before starting this one. Iodine needs can change during pregnancy, and with strengths of 3 mg, 6.25 mg, 12.5 mg, and 25 mg, I'd want your provider involved.
