Thorne Research Ferrasorb
It’s time to take a deep, satisfying breath with the help of Thorne Research Ferrasorb! If you’re looking for iron support, you know how low iron intake can leave you feeling tired and run down.* You might notice low energy, feeling winded, or the kind of drag that makes the day feel longer than it should. That’s because iron plays a role in making red blood cells, which transport oxygen throughout your body. When you’re not getting enough iron, your body can’t use oxygen as efficiently.
When you take an iron supplement, it may help with energy by supporting healthy oxygen transport throughout your body!* And Thorne Research Ferrasorb contains a whopping 36 mg of elemental iron per capsule! That’s 200% of the recommended daily value, which can put an extra pep in your step.* Thorne Research Ferrasorb also goes one step further than most iron supplements by adding a few key vitamins and minerals.
In fact, research has shown that taking these vitamins and minerals together makes them more effective than if taken separately.*
Vitamin C: This vitamin helps your body absorb iron.*
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxal 5'-Phosphate): Vitamin B6 is required to create red blood cells, which help carry oxygen throughout your body.*
Vitamin B9 (Folate): Folate and iron help support healthy red blood cell formation, including during pregnancy.*
Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin): Like vitamin B6, vitamin B12 helps maintain healthy levels of red blood cells.*
Shake off that tired, dragging feeling and show your blood health some love with an ultra-absorbable iron supplement like Thorne Research Ferrasorb! Not sure if this is the best iron supplement for you? Our certified Wellness Consultants are here to help! Send us a message in our contact us page.

FAQs About Thorne Research Ferrasorb® Capsules
Q: Does Ferrasorb support healthy iron status and red blood cell production? A: Yes, that's the main reason people buy it. Each capsule has 36 mg of iron as Ferrochel ferrous bisglycinate, a form that's typically well absorbed and can help support healthy iron intake and utilization.*
Q: Why does this one have B12, folate, and B6 in it too? A: They're there to help with healthy red blood cell production,* not just add iron by itself. You get 300 mcg of B12 as methylcobalamin, 400 mcg of folate as L-5-MTHF, and 5 mg of B6 as P5P.
Q: Should I take it with food or on an empty stomach? A: I'd start with food if iron tends to bother your stomach. The usual directions are 1 capsule one to three times a day. Iron also tends to absorb better if you don't take it around coffee, tea, calcium, or dairy.
Q: I've heard iron can be constipating. Is this one easier on the stomach? A: For a lot of people, yes. Ferrasorb uses iron bisglycinate, which is often easier on the stomach than cheaper forms like ferrous sulfate, but if you're sensitive, you still might notice nausea or constipation.
Q: My doctor said to be careful with folate. Does this use folic acid? A: No, it uses L-5-MTHF instead of folic acid. That's the methylated form of folate. If you're on methotrexate cancer therapy, check with your doctor before taking it.
Q: Are there any medication interactions or safety concerns with Ferrasorb? A: Yes. Iron can get in the way of some medications, including thyroid meds and certain antibiotics, so it's usually smart to take them a few hours apart. If you're pregnant, nursing, or on prescription meds, check with your doctor first.
