Integrative Therapeutics Similase®
No matter what you’re eating, Similase helps your body break it down!* This supplement contains a diverse blend of digestive enzymes to make the digestive process a little easier!
Digestive enzymes play an essential role in gastrointestinal health. Breaking down food, absorbing nutrients, and helping digestion run more smoothly are all part of what digestive enzymes do! While our bodies can produce these enzymes, sometimes we don’t make enough to fully help with digestive function.*
Integrative Therapeutics Similase contains digestive enzymes that promote the digestive process.* When foods are broken down, these enzymes help with nutrient absorption and delivery throughout the body.* Since Similase is a unique formula, it consists of a special blend of enzymes, including:
Amylase helps break down carbohydrates into simple sugars, which play a role in energy production*
Lipase helps the body break down fat and convert it into fatty acids, and is often used to support digestive and liver function*
Protease helps break down proteins into amino acids and is good for intestinal health*
Lactase helps convert lactose into smaller sugar molecules for easier digestion*
Sucrase supports healthy immune function and provides antioxidant support*
We don’t always get what we need from our diets. With its unique formula, Integrative Therapeutics Similase® helps the body break food down and absorb essential nutrients more efficiently.*

FAQs About Integrative Therapeutics Similase® Capsules
Q: How do you take Similase capsules with meals? A: Take 2 capsules at the start of each meal. You can take it up to 3 times a day, so most people use it with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Q: Does this help with digesting dairy and heavier foods? A: Yes. That's one of the main reasons people use it. It has lactase for dairy, lipase for fats at 2,200 FIP per 2 capsules, and amylase plus protease to help break down carbs and protein.
Q: Why does this one have so many different enzymes listed? A: Because it's meant to help with a lot of different foods. A 2-capsule serving gives you 563 mg of microbial enzymes, including different forms of amylase, protease, lactase, lipase, cellulase, sucrase, and phytase.
Q: I've heard digestive enzymes should be taken after eating. Is that true for this one? A: No. Take this one at the beginning of the meal so the enzymes are there when the food hits your stomach, instead of trying to catch up afterward.
Q: Is Similase okay if I'm sensitive to animal-based enzymes? A: Yes. This one uses microbial enzymes, not animal-derived pancreatin. The capsule is plant-derived hypromellose too, so a lot of people prefer it for that reason.
Q: Should I be careful with this if I have a medical condition or take medication? A: Yes. If you have diabetes, take any medications, or have a medical condition, check with your doctor before starting it. If you're pregnant or nursing, talk to your OB or midwife before starting this one.
