FAQs About Plant Therapy Organic Chamomile Roman Essential Oil

Q: Does Roman chamomile help with sleep? A: Roman chamomile is commonly used to help the mind and body relax, which may support restful sleep*. A lot of people diffuse a few drops before bed for that reason.

Q: How do I use this one? A: Diffuse a few drops, especially in the evening or anytime you're feeling wound up. For skin or bath use, don't put it on straight from the bottle. Dilute it first in something like body wash or a carrier oil.

Q: Why does this smell a little different than chamomile tea? A: Because this is Roman chamomile essential oil, not the dried chamomile you'd steep for tea. The scent is softer, a little apple-like, and much more concentrated.

Q: Can I put this directly on my skin? A: I'd dilute it first. Essential oils can irritate skin if you use them neat, so mixing a drop or two into a carrier oil, lotion, or body wash is the safer way to do it.

Q: I've heard chamomile can help with tension and stress. Is that what people buy this for? A: Yeah, that's one of the main reasons. People usually reach for Roman chamomile when they're feeling tense, dealing with everyday stress*, or just want things to feel a little calmer*.

Q: Should I be careful with this if I have allergies or I'm pregnant? A: Yes. If you have ragweed or other daisy-family allergies, chamomile can sometimes be an issue. And if you're pregnant or nursing, it's a good idea to check with your OB or midwife before using it.
