FAQs About Plant Therapy Organic Vetiver Essential Oil
Q: Does vetiver help with sleep, or is it more for daytime relaxing? A: A lot of people use vetiver at night. People often diffuse it about 30 minutes before bed to help quiet a busy mind and make it easier to settle down.
Q: How do I use this in a diffuser? A: Use 1 to 2 drops per 100 mL of water. Vetiver is a thicker oil, so I'd start with 1 drop. A little goes a long way.
Q: Can I put this directly on my skin? A: No. Don't use vetiver undiluted. For topical use, I'd stay at a 1% dilution, even though the general range listed is 1 to 3%.
Q: Why does this one seem thicker than other essential oils? A: Because vetiver root oil naturally has a heavy, thick texture. You may need to be a little patient getting drops out of the bottle.
Q: I've heard vetiver is good for skin blemishes. How would I use it for that? A: Some people add a drop to their face wash for the occasional blemish. I'd still be careful if your skin is sensitive, since this is just organic Vetiveria zizanoides root oil, and essential oils can irritate some people.
Q: Is there anything else in here besides vetiver? A: No, it's a single-oil formula. This one uses certified organic Vetiveria zizanoides root oil, and nothing else is listed.
Q: Should I use this if I'm pregnant or around kids? A: I'd be careful. Keep it out of reach of kids. If you're pregnant or nursing, check with your OB or midwife before using it.
