Don’t let life pass you by with unhealthy eyes! Pure Encapsulations Lutein / Zeaxanthin combines two carotenoid antioxidants that support healthy macular function*. It’s the eye-supporting supplement you need! Age, environmental stressors, and everyday visual demands can affect healthy eye function over time. Targeted nutrition may help support healthy vision and macular health as you age.* And what are the best nutrients for the job? Lutein and zeaxanthin, of course!

Located in the macular part of the eye, lutein and zeaxanthin are known as carotenoids. Carotenoids play a key role in visual function and help support the eye’s natural defense against oxidative stress and healthy light filtration.* In fact, zeaxanthin and lutein help support the eyes during exposure to everyday blue light, which can lead to the release of free radicals and the buildup of inflammation!* But that’s not all — these protective carotenoid antioxidants can be helpful for eye health in a variety of ways!

  • Helps support overall eye health and visual function*

FAQs About Pure Encapsulations Lutein / Zeaxanthin Capsules

Q: What do people usually take lutein and zeaxanthin for? A: Mostly for eye health. This one has 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg of zeaxanthin. People usually take them for macular support and to help support healthy vision as they get older.

Q: Does this have the AREDS2 ingredients in it? A: No. This one only has lutein and zeaxanthin, not the full AREDS2 combo with vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and copper.

Q: How should I take it? A: Take 1 capsule a day with a meal. Ideally, take it with something that has a little fat, since carotenoids usually absorb better that way.

Q: Why does it use both lutein and zeaxanthin? A: Because they’re both found in the macula and are often paired together for eye support. In this formula, you get 10 mg of lutein plus 2 mg of zeaxanthin, which is a common combo.

Q: Is this vegetarian? A: Yes. The capsule is vegetarian cellulose, and the other inactive ingredients are plant fiber and red beet root powder.

Q: My doctor said to check for medication issues. Are there any concerns with this one? A: It’s usually well tolerated, but if you take medications or you’re being treated for an eye condition, it’s still smart to check with your doctor or pharmacist first. If you’re pregnant or nursing, talk with your OB or midwife before starting it.
