FAQs About Megafood L-Theanine & B Complex Tablets
Q: Does this help you relax without making you sleepy? A: Usually, yes. A full 2-tablet serving gives you 200 mg of L-theanine and 300 mg of lemon balm, so a lot of people take it when they want to feel calmer but still go about their day.
Q: Should I take both tablets at once or split them up? A: I'd start with 2 tablets a day with a beverage, just like the bottle says. Some people take both at once. Others split them between morning and afternoon if they want it to feel more even.
Q: Why does this have B vitamins in it too? A: They're there to round things out a bit. You get active forms like methylcobalamin for B12, pyridoxal-5-phosphate for B6, and methylfolate for folate, so it isn't just theanine by itself.
Q: I've heard B vitamins can make you feel wired. Is that true with this one? A: Sometimes, yeah. The niacin here is niacinamide, so it's less likely to cause flushing, but the B12 is 20 mcg and the B6 is 8 mg. If you're sensitive, I'd try it earlier in the day first.
Q: My doctor said to be careful with supplements while on medication. Is this one okay? A: Use some caution. Lemon balm can be an issue with sedating medications, and if you take anything for mood, sleep, thyroid, or anxiety, I'd check with your pharmacist before you start it.
Q: Does this use the active forms of folate and B12? A: Yeah. It uses calcium L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate for folate and methylcobalamin for B12. That's a good fit for people who specifically want methylfolate instead of folic acid.
Q: Can I take this if I'm pregnant or nursing? A: I'd wait and talk to your OB or midwife before starting this one. Lemon balm and higher-dose B formulas are not something I'd want to guess on during pregnancy or while nursing.
