FAQs About Charlotte's Web Hip and Joint Chews for Dogs

Q: Does this actually help with stiff joints in dogs? A: It’s formulated to promote mobility, flexibility, and normal joint function in dogs.* It uses glucosamine HCl, chondroitin sulfate, turmeric root powder, and 2.5 mg of full-spectrum hemp extract per chew for everyday joint support.*

Q: How many chews should I give my dog per day? A: Go by your dog’s weight: up to 1/2 chew daily under 10 lbs, 1 chew for 11 to 25 lbs, 2 chews for 26 to 50 lbs, 4 chews for 51 to 75 lbs, 6 chews for 76 to 100 lbs, and up to 8 chews daily over 100 lbs.

Q: Should I give it with food or by itself? A: Either is fine if your dog eats it without a problem. A lot of people give it like a treat, but if your dog has a sensitive stomach, I’d give it with a meal.

Q: Why does this one use hemp extract? Will it make my dog high? A: No. It won’t make your dog high. The hemp extract is included to help with joint comfort and mobility in dogs,* and each chew has at least 2.5 mg of naturally occurring total phytocannabinoids from full-spectrum hemp extract. It’s made for dogs, not to intoxicate them.

Q: My dog has a shellfish allergy. Is this a problem? A: Yes, I’d skip it. The glucosamine is shellfish-based, and shellfish is listed on the label.

Q: Is it safe for pregnant dogs or dogs used for breeding? A: I’d be careful with this one. Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding hasn’t been proven, so I’d talk to your vet before starting it.

Q: I've heard turmeric can upset some dogs' stomachs. Is that possible with this? A: Yes, that can happen in some dogs. If your dog gets loose stool, vomiting, or just seems off after starting it, stop using it and check with your veterinarian.
