FAQs About MegaFood One Daily Iron Free Tablets
Q: Does this one have iron in it? A: No. This is the iron-free version, so it makes sense if your doctor told you to avoid extra iron or if iron tends to upset your stomach.
Q: Should I take this with food or on an empty stomach? A: Either is fine. The directions say one tablet daily with a beverage, and MegaFood says you can take it even on an empty stomach.
Q: Why does it say iron free if it's still a full multivitamin? A: Because it has the main vitamins and minerals, just without added iron. You still get 13 vitamins, including A, C, D3, E, K, folate, and B12, plus minerals like iodine and zinc.
Q: I've heard some multis use different forms of B vitamins. What does this one use? A: It uses folic acid for folate and cyanocobalamin for B12. The other B vitamins are forms like thiamine hydrochloride, niacinamide, pyridoxine hydrochloride, biotin, and d-calcium pantothenate.
Q: My doctor said to be careful with vitamin K. Does this have any? A: Yes. It has vitamin K as phytonadione with cabbage, so if you're on warfarin or another blood thinner, check with your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
Q: Is this likely to upset my stomach? A: Usually not. It's iron-free, which helps, and a lot of people do fine taking it without food. If your stomach is sensitive, I'd start with breakfast and see how you do.
