FAQs About Mad Hippie Blemish Cream

Q: Does this work as a spot treatment or do I put it all over? A: Both. You can apply a thin layer over the whole breakout-prone area or just dab it on individual blemishes. The 2% salicylic acid helps unclog pores as it clears them.

Q: Should I use it once a day or more than that? A: Start with once a day. If your skin is doing fine, you can increase to two or three times a day. If you get dry or peely, I'd cut back to once a day or every other day.

Q: Why does this one feel less drying than some blemish creams? A: Because it’s not just 2% salicylic acid. It also has aloe, glycerin, squalane, sodium hyaluronate, calendula, and arnica, so it doesn’t feel as harsh on your skin.

Q: I've heard salicylic acid can irritate skin. Is this okay for sensitive skin? A: Maybe, but I'd go slow. Salicylic acid at 2% can dry out or irritate sensitive skin, so I'd patch test first and start with a very small amount once a day.

Q: Does it help with red, angry-looking breakouts too? A: Yeah, that’s one reason people like it. Along with salicylic acid, it has arnica, calendula, aloe, and sea buckthorn oil to help calm the look of redness while your skin heals.

Q: My doctor said to be careful mixing blemish products. Can I use this with retinol or benzoyl peroxide? A: You can, but I'd be careful. Using 2% salicylic acid with retinol, benzoyl peroxide, or exfoliating acids can be too much for some skin, so I'd alternate them or check with your dermatologist if your skin is already dry or reactive.
