FAQs About Mad Hippie Hydrating Facial SPF
Q: Does this leave a white cast on the skin? A: Usually not much. It uses 15.7% non-nano zinc oxide, so you might notice a little white cast at first, but for a mineral face SPF it rubs in pretty clear if you work it in well.
Q: Should I use this like a moisturizer or like a sunscreen? A: Both. It gives you SPF 25+ broad-spectrum protection, and it also has hydrating ingredients like sodium hyaluronate, polyglutamic acid, glycerin, squalane, and aloe.
Q: How do I apply it for the best protection? A: Shake it well, then put it on 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, right after towel drying, and at least every 2 hours if you're in the sun.
Q: I've got sensitive skin. Is this one fragranced? A: No, it's fragrance-free. It also skips chemical sunscreen filters and uses non-nano zinc oxide instead, which a lot of people with reactive skin tend to do better with.
Q: Why does this one feel more hydrating than a typical face sunscreen? A: Because it has a lot of moisturizing ingredients in it. Sodium hyaluronate, polyglutamic acid, shea butter, avocado oil, coconut oil, and squalane make it feel more like skincare than a dry mineral SPF.
Q: My skin breaks out easily. Could this be too rich for me? A: Maybe. It has richer oils and butters like shea butter, coconut oil, avocado oil, and cocoa seed butter, so if you're very acne-prone, I'd patch test first.
Q: Can I use this if I'm pregnant or nursing? A: I'd check with your OB or midwife before starting this one. Zinc oxide is a mineral sunscreen ingredient, but the brand still recommends checking with your doctor if you're pregnant or nursing.
