FAQs About Pure Encapsulations CurcumaSorb Capsules
Q: Does this one help with joints, or is it more for digestion? A: Most people pick this one for joint support first. It has 500 mg of Meriva turmeric phytosome per 2 capsules, which is a more absorbable form of curcumin. Some people also use it for digestive and inflammatory support.
Q: Why does this one use Meriva instead of regular turmeric powder? A: Because it’s made to absorb better. Meriva combines turmeric root extract with a sunflower phospholipid complex, so your body usually takes it in better than plain turmeric powder.
Q: How many capsules should I take per day? A: The suggested use is 2 capsules, 1 to 3 times daily, between meals. I’d usually start with 2 capsules once a day, then only go higher if your practitioner wants you to.
Q: Should I take it with food or on an empty stomach? A: This one is meant to be taken between meals. If turmeric feels a little strong on your stomach, ask your practitioner if taking it with a little food makes more sense for you.
Q: I've heard curcumin can be hard to absorb. Is that true with this one? A: Yeah, plain curcumin can be hard to absorb. That’s why this one uses a turmeric phytosome, where the curcumin extract is attached to sunflower phospholipids to help with uptake.
Q: My doctor said to be careful with supplements if I'm on medication. Any concerns with this one? A: Yes, I’d be careful. Turmeric and curcumin can interact with some medications, especially blood thinners, so check with your pharmacist or doctor if you take anything regularly.
Q: Is this vegetarian, and does it have any common allergens in it? A: Yes, it’s vegetarian. The capsule is cellulose-based, and the other ingredients are plant fiber and water. The Meriva complex uses sunflower phospholipids, so this one does not list soy.
