Plant Therapy Nature Shield Synergy Blend
We all love to get outside on warm spring and summer days — until the bugs descend, that is. Nothing can so quickly transform a beautiful evening outside into a torture session so quickly as mosquitoes, gnats, and other pesky pests. Enjoy your excursion without the itchy skin, red welts, and ruined plans! Nature Shield was created with you in mind, creating a natural, effective barrier to help shield you from nature's outdoor annoyances. This blend of insect repellent essential oils helps deter bugs from buzzing around you and ruining the vibe. You can use this blend topically or in a diffuser or oil burner. Whatever you need to make sure your grand plans don’t go sideways!
Citronella Essential Oil: This essential oil is a well-known bug-repeller! It’s been used in blends of insect repellent essential oils for years because it’s often used to help keep bugs at bay.
Geranium Essential Oil: Another earthy, herbaceous essential oil that bugs really don’t seem to enjoy! Geranium essential oil helps keep insects from bothering you.
Lemongrass Essential Oil: Lemongrass has been a favorite in outdoor blends for hundreds of years. This wonderfully lemony and earthy essential oil helps deter insects with its strong citrus scent.
Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil: Eucalyptus essential oil has a strong, fresh aroma commonly used in outdoor blends to help make the environment less inviting to insects. Bugs tend to avoid the distinct fragrance of eucalyptus.
Lavender Essential Oil: Another classic essential oil for repelling insects, especially mosquitoes, midges, and moths! It may help soothe skin after outdoor exposure and support the skin's natural recovery process.*
Tea Tree Essential Oil: This renowned essential oil is commonly used in blends intended to help deter insects. It’s often included in formulas used around the home to help keep mosquitoes, fleas, and flies away.
Patchouli Essential Oil: Patchouli has been used to help deter insects since ancient times. It is frequently used in sprays, body lotions, fumigants, vaporizers, and incense sticks to help drive away mosquitoes, ants, bed bugs, lice, fleas, flies, and moths.
Cedarwood Virginian Essential Oil: There’s an excellent reason that cedar chests, cedar balls, and cedar chips have such a long history in our homes and lives — cedar is a classic insect repellent often used to help drive away moths, mosquitoes, and flies.
Catnip Essential Oil: The strong, distinct aroma of catnip is reminiscent of mint — and bugs really don’t like it!
This synergistic blend of insect repellent essential oils is not safe for use with kids. If you need a family-friendly bug-repelling blend, see our KidSafe alternative Shield Me.

FAQs About Plant Therapy Nature Shield Synergy Blend
Q: Does this actually help keep bugs away? A: Yes, that's what it's made for. Nature Shield uses citronella, lemongrass, eucalyptus globulus, catnip, cedarwood, lavender, tea tree, patchouli, and Egyptian geranium, all commonly used in outdoor bug blends.
Q: Should I put it right on my skin before I go outside? A: Yes, if you're using the pre-diluted roll-on. It's already diluted to 5% in fractionated coconut oil, so you can put it on your arms, legs, and neck before you head outside.
Q: What's the difference between the roll-on and the regular 10 mL bottle? A: The roll-on is ready to use on skin. The regular 10 mL bottle is the straight essential oil blend, so you'd use it in a diffuser, on clothing, in a spray, or dilute it first before putting it on skin.
Q: How do I dilute the regular bottle if I want to use it on skin? A: Use 90 drops in 2 ounces of fractionated coconut oil. That gives you the 5% dilution they recommend for arms, legs, and neck.
Q: Is this safe for kids? A: No, it's not considered child safe. I'd keep it out of reach and skip it for little kids unless you've talked with a qualified practitioner first.
Q: I've heard tea tree and eucalyptus can be strong. Is this one irritating? A: It can be for some people, yes. This blend has stronger oils like tea tree, eucalyptus globulus, citronella, and lemongrass, so don't put the undiluted bottle straight on skin. I'd patch test first, even with the roll-on.
Q: Can I use it in a diffuser instead of wearing it? A: Yes. The regular 10 mL bottle works well in a diffuser outdoors or in an oil burner around a picnic area if you want the scent in the air instead of on your skin.
