Peppermint is a perennial herb that thrives in Europe, North America, and Asia. Plant Therapy Organic Peppermint Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the mint plant, and offers a strong aromatic scent that is fresh, cool, and fiercely minty.

To the mind and emotions, organic peppermint essential oil offers a unique ability to sharply promote energy and mental clarity.* Its invigorating aroma seems to tell the mind, “Hey! It’s time to calm down and focus on the task at hand!” Its strong scent is unique in that it is simultaneously invigorating, brings energy and focus, while also helping ease everyday stress, occasional restlessness, and occasional nervousness.* Inhaling organic peppermint essential oil may help support a clear, refreshing breathing experience and promote a cooling aromatic sensation.* It can also be helpful for comfortable breathing and a sense of open airways during seasonal or environmental challenges.* For those of us prone to head and neck tension, keep a roller bottle of organic peppermint essential oil (blended with a carrier oil of your choice) nearby. It may provide a cooling, soothing sensation and promote overall comfort.* Another popular use for peppermint essential oil lies in its cooling effect on the skin. Blended with a massage oil as a carrier, peppermint oil stimulates circulation at the surface of the skin. It opens up the skin pores and provides a cool, soothing sensation for post-activity muscle and joint comfort.* Around the house, organic peppermint essential oil continues to offer boundless uses. Add it to a spray bottle with water for a quick room refresher, or deter bugs (such as ants and spiders) by strategically leaving cotton balls soaked in organic peppermint oil where insects love to hang out. Insects hate the strong aroma of peppermint oil and will vacate the premises in a hurry! Organic Peppermint Essential Oil Blends Well With:

FAQs About Plant Therapy Organic Peppermint Essential Oil

Q: Does peppermint oil help with headaches or tension? A: A lot of people use it topically, when properly diluted, for a cooling sensation on the temples and neck during times of tension. I'd dilute it to about 1 to 3% in a carrier oil, then apply a little to the neck and temples.

Q: Should I put this straight on my skin? A: No. Peppermint oil is strong, so dilute it with a carrier oil before putting it on your skin.

Q: What's in this one? A: Just one ingredient: organic Mentha piperita, peppermint oil. No fillers or extra oils mixed in.

Q: I've heard peppermint oil can help with nausea and congestion. Is that true? A: That's a common reason people buy it. A lot of people enjoy the aroma for a refreshing, cooling experience and a feeling of easier, clearer breathing when they're feeling stuffy or unsettled.

Q: Can I use this around kids? A: Use caution with kids. I wouldn't diffuse it near young children or put it on their face. If you're using it around little ones, keep it very diluted and check the age guidance first.

Q: How do I use it for sore feet or muscles? A: For a foot soak, add a few drops to 1 tablespoon of carrier oil and 1/2 cup of epsom salt, then mix that into warm water. For post-activity use, dilute it first and apply a little to areas needing a cooling, soothing sensation. Peppermint has that cooling feel.

Q: Is this okay to take by mouth? A: I wouldn't use this one internally unless the brand specifically says you can and you've checked the directions. For most people, peppermint oil is better used aromatically or diluted on the skin.
