FAQs About Plant Therapy Organic Rosemary 1,8-Cineol Essential Oil
Q: Why does this one say 1,8-cineol? A: That tells you the rosemary chemotype. People usually pick this type for inhalation or diffuser use, and this bottle is just organic Rosmarinus officinalis leaf/stem oil with nothing else added.
Q: My doctor said to be careful with essential oils. Is this one safe to put right on skin? A: No, I wouldn't put it on skin undiluted. For skin use, dilute it to 2 to 5% first, especially for your scalp or a muscle rub.
Q: I've heard rosemary oil is good for hair. Can I use this on my scalp? A: Yes, but dilute it first. A lot of people add a few drops to a carrier oil or shampoo for scalp use, since rosemary is commonly used for hair and scalp care.
Q: Before I buy it, can you tell me what's actually in the bottle? A: Just one ingredient: certified organic rosemary leaf and stem oil. There isn't a listed milligram amount or serving size because it's an essential oil, not a capsule or tincture.
Q: For sore muscles, what's the best way to use it? A: Use it on the skin, diluted. I'd mix it into a carrier oil at 2 to 5% and use a small amount on the area, then wash your hands afterward.
Q: I have kids at home. Anything I should watch out for? A: Yes. Don't apply it to or near the face of infants or children, and keep the bottle out of reach because essential oils are very concentrated.
Q: Would you diffuse this or use an inhaler instead? A: Either works. If you want the smell around the room, diffuse it. If you just want a quick sniff now and then, a personal inhaler is handy. The brand also suggests pairing it with lemon in an inhaler.
