Plant Therapy Rosalina Essential Oil
You probably haven’t heard of Rosalina Essential Oil — it’s a bit of a newcomer to the world of essential oils and aromatherapy, but it’s a superstar waiting to be discovered! It is simultaneously relaxing, soothing, and stimulating, making it a versatile addition to your home wellness routine. Rosalina essential oil (also referred to as Lavender Tea Tree in Australia) has many of the same properties as Eucalyptus oil, yet it is gentler and safer. Rosalina oil is one of our very favorite kid-safe essential oils.
Botanical Name: Melaleuca ericifolia
Aromatic Scent: Soft, lemony, medicinal and floral scent
Strength of Aroma: Medium
Country of Origin: Australia
Extraction Method: Steam Distilled
Plant Part: Leaves
Kid Safe: Yes
One of the best ways to use Rosalina is as part of your seasonal wellness routine. If it feels like you can’t leave the house without running into the usual office or school-time sniffles, it’s a great time to diffuse Rosalina essential oil for a refreshing aromatherapy experience.* (If you have an autoimmune disorder, we recommend that you do not use immune-stimulating essential oils.)* Rosalina Essential Oil is also a popular choice to keep on hand during seasonal changes. It helps support respiratory comfort and promotes a refreshing breathing experience when things feel stuffy.* If your kids have blemish-prone skin, Rosalina Essential Oil can be a helpful addition to their routine. It is commonly used in topical blends to help support a clear, healthy-looking complexion.* It’s so gentle that it’s even safe for sensitive skin! Add a couple of drops to your toner or moisturizers to promote a healthy complexion.* In aromatherapy, Rosalina Essential Oil mimics the calming, soothing effects of lavender and tea tree, two oils with which it shares many similarities (including its fragrance!) It’s especially nice for winding kids down at bedtime and helping melt away everyday stress.* It may help promote relaxation and restful sleep for everyone in the family — and goodness knows, you could all use a good night’s sleep, right?* Rosalina Essential Oil Blends Well With:
- Blue Tansy
- Citronella
- Cypress
- Fir Needle
- Geranium

Quick Essential Oil Recipe for Immune Support*
Diffuse 2 drops each Rosalina, Lemon, and Lavender for an immune support blend*. (If diffusing for long periods, we advise diffusing for 30 minutes on and 30 minutes off.) Or, dilute with a carrier oil of your choice to 2-4% and apply topically to pressure points.
Quick Essential Oil Recipe for Comforting Aromatherapy Balm
Over a double boiler melt together 5 ounces of beeswax and 5 ounces of coconut oil. Remove from heat and quickly stir in 20 drops Eucalyptus, 10 drops Rosalina, and 6 drops Cypress essential oils. Pour into tins and allow to cool fully. This has a shelf life of 1 year when stored in a cool and dark place.
Cautions: Do not use undiluted on skin. Keep out of the reach of children. Consult a physician before using this product if you are pregnant, nursing, taking any medications, or have a medical condition. We do not recommend the ingestion of essential oils.

FAQs About Plant Therapy Rosalina Essential Oil
Q: I've never used Rosalina before. What's it usually for? A: People often choose it for a gentler, more refreshing aromatic experience, especially if regular tea tree feels too harsh. It's just Melaleuca ericifolia leaf oil, a single essential oil, not a blend.
Q: Can I put this straight on my chest or wrists? A: I wouldn't use it neat. For skin use, dilute it in a carrier oil at 2 to 4%, then apply a small amount.
Q: What's the easiest way to use it in a diffuser? A: Use 2 to 3 drops per 100 mL of water. If you're diffusing for a while, I'd run it 30 minutes on and 30 minutes off instead of nonstop.
Q: My doctor said to be careful with essential oils around kids. Is this one okay? A: I'd still be careful. Diffusing is usually the gentlest option, but if you have little kids, or if you're pregnant, nursing, have asthma, or have pets at home, check with your doctor or veterinarian before using it much.
Q: Why does Rosalina get compared to tea tree? A: They're related plants, so people compare them a lot. Rosalina usually smells softer and less medicinal to most people, which is why some prefer it in a room blend or personal inhaler.
Q: If I want to mix it with other oils, what goes well with it? A: Lemon and lavender are easy pairings. A simple diffuser blend is 2 drops Rosalina, 2 drops Lemon, and 2 drops Lavender.
Q: Any safety stuff I should know before I use it? A: Yes, don't take it internally unless a qualified practitioner tells you to. I'd also keep it out of your eyes and off broken or irritated skin, and stop using it if your skin gets red or itchy.
