Prenatal vitamins provide a variety of vitamins and minerals that are essential for healthy fetal development.* They also help nourish a woman’s body before and during pregnancy, which is why they matter during pregnancy planning too! Folate is a great example of a nutrient that matters during the first few weeks of pregnancy. It’s even important to take while you are trying to conceive.

Folate supports healthy neural tube development during early pregnancy.* The need for other nutrients, such as vitamin A and iron, also increases during pregnancy and plays an important role in healthy fetal development.* Let’s take a look at how this prenatal multivitamin can help fill nutritional needs for you and your developing baby!

  • Vitamin A plays a role in immune health, visual health, and normal organ development, and it’s also important for healthy tissue repair after giving birth.*

  • Folate is in the best prenatal vitamins! It’s one of the key nutrients during early pregnancy because it helps with healthy neural tube development. Plus, it promotes healthy spinal and brain development.*

  • B Vitamins, besides folate, are also essential to a growing baby! They help with brain, blood, skin, digestive, and hormonal health.*

  • Vitamin D promotes your baby’s bone growth, and it helps your bones, muscles, and immune system stay strong through pregnancy.*

  • Iron is already an essential nutrient for women’s health. It’s even more important during pregnancy because it helps maintain healthy red blood cells and supports a healthy placenta. It also plays a role in oxygen transport for your developing baby.*

The best prenatal vitamins, like MegaFood Baby and Me 2 Prenatal, contain balanced nutrients that meet the needs of moms-to-be and the developing baby. Of course, a healthy diet is very important during pregnancy. You’ll want to consume a balanced diet consisting of unprocessed foods, a colorful variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and protein.

Even with the best intentions, it can still be tough to stick with your dietary goals consistently. Prenatal vitamins can help fill in what you're missing so both mom and baby are getting the nutrition they need.* Nourish yourself and your growing baby with essential vitamins and minerals with the powerful help of MegaFood Baby and Me 2 Prenatal Multi! Oh — and congratulations!

FAQs About MegaFood Baby & Me 2 Prenatal Multi

Q: Should I take this with food, or can I take it on an empty stomach? A: You can take it either way. The serving is 2 tablets daily with a beverage, and MegaFood made it gentle enough that a lot of people do fine even without food.

Q: Does this use methylfolate or regular folic acid? A: It uses methylfolate, specifically L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate. That’s the active form of folate, and a lot of people prefer that in a prenatal.

Q: Why does this one use methylcobalamin for B12? A: Because it’s an active form of B12. Same idea with the B6 too—it uses pyridoxal-5-phosphate instead of the more basic form.

Q: I've heard prenatals can make you nauseous. Is this one easier on the stomach? A: Usually, yes. It’s made to be gentler on the stomach, and the iron is bisglycinate, which a lot of people find easier than harsher forms.

Q: My doctor said to watch iron. Does this prenatal have iron in it? A: Yes, it does. The iron here is fermented iron bisglycinate, so if iron tends to bother your stomach, this form is often easier to tolerate.

Q: Does it have anything I should be careful with if I'm on medication? A: Yes, I’d check first. Since it has iron and vitamin K, timing can matter with some meds. If you’re on thyroid medication, blood thinners, or anything prescription, check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.

Q: Can I take this while pregnant or nursing? A: That’s what it’s made for, but I’d still run it by your OB or midwife first. Also, keep it well out of reach of kids, since iron-containing supplements can be dangerous if a child gets into them.
