FAQs About MegaFood MegaFlora® Women's Probiotic + Prebiotic Capsules

Q: Does this one help with vaginal and urinary tract health, or is it mostly for digestion? A: Both. It has 30 billion CFU from the women’s blend, including Lactobacillus plantarum LP115 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus HN001, plus 400 mg of organic cranberry for urinary tract support. There’s also another 20 billion CFU for gut support.

Q: How many capsules should I take per day? A: Take two capsules a day with food and a beverage. Anytime is fine. I’d probably tie it to breakfast or lunch so it’s easier to remember.

Q: Why does this probiotic have cranberry in it? A: The cranberry is there for urinary tract support. You get 400 mg per serving, which makes sense in a women’s formula instead of relying on probiotics alone.

Q: I've heard that prebiotics can make you gassy. Should I worry about that with this one? A: Maybe a little at first, especially if you’re sensitive. The prebiotic blend is 257 mg from beetroot, burdock root, and dandelion root. I’d take it with a meal and give it a few days.

Q: My doctor said to look for specific probiotic strains for women. Which ones are in here? A: The main women’s strains are Lactobacillus plantarum LP115 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus HN001. It also has a broader blend with strains like L. acidophilus, L. gasseri, B. lactis, B. longum, and B. infantis for digestive support.

Q: Should I take this away from antibiotics? A: Yes. I’d space it out by at least 2 hours from your antibiotic so the probiotic has a better shot of making it through.

Q: Is there anything I should be careful about before starting it? A: Yes. If you’re pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have a medical condition, check with your doctor first. If you have a very sensitive stomach or you’re immunocompromised, I’d be a little more careful with probiotics in general.
