FAQs About Plant Therapy Organic Respir Aid Essential Oil

Q: Does this help when you're feeling stuffed up or dealing with a cough? A: Many people pick it for its cooling, refreshing aroma during seasonal changes or when breathing feels less comfortable.* The blend has eucalyptus globulus, peppermint, cypress, and black spruce, so it gives off that cooling, refreshing aroma people like to diffuse or rub on the chest when they want a more open, invigorating aromatic experience.*

Q: Should I get the roll-on or the regular 10 mL bottle? A: I'd get the roll-on if you want something ready to use on the upper chest. It's pre-diluted to 5% in caprylic/capric triglyceride. The regular bottle has to be diluted to 3 to 5% in a carrier before it goes on skin.

Q: How do I use the regular bottle? A: Diffuse 3 to 4 drops per 100 mL of water, or use it in a personal inhaler. If you want to put it on skin, dilute it first. Don't use this one neat.

Q: Why does it feel so cooling when I smell it? A: Mostly the peppermint and eucalyptus. Lavender and sweet marjoram soften it a bit, but you still get that minty, fresh, cooling aroma* right away.

Q: Is it safe to put this on kids? A: Not around younger kids. Plant Therapy says this blend is not safe for use around children age 10 and under, so I'd keep it away from them and out of reach.

Q: I've heard some essential oils can be used internally. Can I take this one that way? A: No. They do not recommend ingesting it. I'd stick with diffusing it, using a personal inhaler, or applying the roll-on to the upper chest.

Q: My doctor said to be careful with essential oils while pregnant. Is this one okay? A: I'd check with your doctor first. With peppermint, eucalyptus, juniper, and the rest of this blend, talk with your OB or midwife before using it.
