Q: What do people usually take this vitamin A for? A: Mostly for eye health and immune support. Each softgel has 10,000 IU of vitamin A from vitamin A palmitate and cod fish liver oil.
Q: How many softgels should I take per day? A: One a day, with food if you can, since vitamin A is fat-soluble.
Q: Does this have fish in it? A: Yes. Some of the vitamin A comes from cod fish liver oil, and the softgel uses gelatin, so it isn’t vegetarian.
Q: Why does this one use vitamin A palmitate and cod liver oil? A: Because both are preformed vitamin A, which means your body can use them as-is. Beta-carotene has to be converted first.
Q: Should I be careful with 10,000 IU of vitamin A? A: Yes, especially if you already take other supplements with vitamin A or use cod liver oil. Vitamin A can build up in the body, so I wouldn’t stack it with a bunch of other vitamin A products unless your practitioner told you to.
