Q: What does Osteoprime Ultra help with? A: It's mainly for bone support. Each 4-tablet serving gives you 800 mg of calcium, plus 20 mcg of vitamin D3, 300 mg of magnesium, and vitamins K1 and K2 to help with calcium use and bone density.
Q: How many tablets should I take per day? A: Take four a day with food. If your stomach is sensitive, I'd split them up, 2 with breakfast and 2 with dinner.
Q: Why does this one have both K1 and K2? A: It has both because vitamin K isn't just one thing, and both are used in bone metabolism. This formula gives you 300 mcg of vitamin K1 and 45 mcg of K2 as MK-7 from natto.
Q: Does it have magnesium too, or is it mostly calcium? A: Yes, it has a solid amount of magnesium. You get 300 mg per full serving, from magnesium oxide and magnesium aspartate, along with 800 mg of calcium from carbonate, citrate, and tricalcium phosphate.
Q: My doctor said to be careful with warfarin. Can I take this? A: I'd be careful with this one. It has vitamin K1 and K2, so if you're on Coumadin or warfarin, or you have a bleeding disorder, check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it.
Q: Should I take this if I'm pregnant or nursing? A: No, not unless your OB or midwife tells you to. I'd skip it during pregnancy or nursing unless your practitioner specifically wants you on it.
Q: I've heard calcium can be hard on the stomach. Is this one okay to take with meals? A: Yes, take it with food. It usually sits better that way, and with a 4-tablet serving plus minerals like magnesium and zinc, most people do better when they don't take it on an empty stomach.
