FAQs About Natural Factors Biocoenzymated™ Active B Complex Capsules

Q: How is this B complex different from a regular one? A: This one uses the active forms for several B vitamins, so a lot of people choose it for that reason. It has riboflavin-5-phosphate for B2, pyridoxal-5-phosphate for B6, methylcobalamin for B12, and methylfolate as Quatrefolic® for folate.

Q: Does this have methylfolate and methyl B12? A: Yes. It has 680 mcg DFE of folate from MTHF and 500 mcg of methylcobalamin for B12. Those are the forms a lot of people look for.

Q: Should I take it with food or on an empty stomach? A: I'd take 1 capsule with breakfast or lunch. B vitamins can feel a little stimulating for some people, and taking them with food is usually easier on the stomach.

Q: I've heard B vitamins can make your urine bright yellow. Will this one do that? A: Yep, it can. The riboflavin, B2 at 10 mg in this formula, is usually what turns urine bright yellow. That's normal.

Q: My doctor said to watch niacin because I flush easily. Will this one cause that? A: Maybe less than standard niacin, but I'd still be careful. This one uses 100 mg of inositol hexaniacinate, which is often picked because it tends to be gentler, but if you're sensitive you could still notice warmth or flushing.

Q: Why does this one say biocoenzymated active B complex? A: It just means several of the B vitamins are already in their active, coenzyme forms. So your body can use them more directly, and that's the main thing that sets it apart from a basic B complex.

Q: Are there any safety concerns or medication issues with it? A: Yes, a couple. If you're pregnant, nursing, or taking medications, I'd check with your doctor first. Also, biotin can interfere with some lab tests, so let your provider know, since this one has 250 mcg.
