Pure Encapsulations P-5-P

Looking for an active form of vitamin B6 that helps keep your body in good shape? Pure Encapsulations P5P 50 contains a powerful formula that may help you do exactly that.*

Pure Encapsulations P5P 50, also called pyridoxal phosphate, is an active form of vitamin B6, which our bodies require for many biological functions. Its primary job is helping our bodies break down and absorb certain nutrients, assisting in the production of some hormones, and acting as a crucial coenzyme involved in the release of glycogen from muscles.*

  • Active B6: Contains an active metabolite of pyridoxine known as P5P

  • Supports the Absorption of Essential Nutrients: Including B12 and magnesium*

  • Promotes the Release of Glycogen: Yes*

  • Maintains Balance: Helps regulate potassium and sodium levels*

When it comes to digestion and utilization of nutrients, P5P stays very busy in the body. It helps your body metabolize protein, break down carbs and fats, improve nutrient absorption, and plays a role in the elongation of essential fatty acids.* It’s especially useful when your body is working through fatty and carb-heavy foods.

Active B6 may help support a balanced mood since this vitamin is required for the production of dopamine.* Pyridoxal phosphate also promotes healthy absorption of vitamin B12, which is crucial for the formation of healthy red blood cells, helps maintain neurological health, and supports emotional well-being.*

This P5P supplement also contains magnesium for improved activity and absorption. Even on its own, magnesium has a lot going on. It takes part in hundreds of biochemical reactions in the body and is necessary for healthy bone formation.*

FAQs About Pure Encapsulations P-5-P

Q: What does P-5-P do in the body? A: It's the active form of vitamin B6, so your body can use it directly. Each capsule gives you 50 mg of pyridoxal 5' phosphate to support protein, carb, and fat metabolism.

Q: How should I take this one? A: Take 1 capsule with a meal, once or twice a day. I'd start with one a day unless your practitioner told you to do something different.

Q: Does this use regular vitamin B6 or the activated kind? A: The activated kind. It uses pyridoxal 5' phosphate, the P-5-P form of B6, at 50 mg per capsule.

Q: I've heard too much B6 can be a problem. Is 50 mg a lot? A: Yes, 50 mg is a higher-strength dose than what most multivitamins give. For some people that's fine, but I wouldn't combine it with other high-B6 products long term unless your doctor wants you taking that amount.

Q: Is it vegetarian and pretty clean on fillers? A: Yes. It's in a vegetarian capsule, and the extra ingredients are minimal: cellulose, water, hypoallergenic plant fiber, and ascorbyl palmitate.

Q: Should I take it if I'm pregnant or on medications? A: I'd check first. Talk to your OB or midwife before starting it, and if you take any medications or have a medical condition, ask your doctor too.
