FAQs About Pure Encapsulations Women's Nutrients Capsules

Q: Who is this multivitamin a good fit for? A: It's a good fit for women who want a more complete multivitamin, especially if they want active B vitamins and a little extra support as they get older. It includes methylcobalamin for B12, Metafolin L-5-MTHF for folate, and 500 IU of vitamin D3 per 3-capsule serving.

Q: How many capsules should I take per day? A: Take 3 capsules, 1 to 2 times a day with meals. I'd usually start with 3 a day with food, then increase it if your practitioner wants you on the full amount.

Q: Why does this one use L-5-MTHF and methylcobalamin? A: Those are the active forms of folate and B12, so some people prefer them over the standard forms. This one gives you 400 mcg of folate as Metafolin L-5-MTHF per serving, plus B12 as methylcobalamin.

Q: Does this have iron in it? A: Check the full Supplement Facts panel to confirm. From the ingredient list I have here, I can see vitamins, calcium, iodine, magnesium, zinc, and selenium, but iron doesn't show up in the part I was given.

Q: My doctor said to watch vitamin K. Should I avoid this one? A: Maybe, yes. This one has vitamin K1, so if you're on warfarin or another blood thinner, check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it.

Q: Should I take this on an empty stomach? A: No, take it with food. Multivitamins like this usually sit better with a meal, and the directions specifically say to take it with meals.

Q: Is this okay during pregnancy or while nursing? A: I wouldn't start this on your own during pregnancy or while nursing. Talk to your OB or midwife before starting it.
