FAQs About Solgar Sublingual Liquid B-12 2000 mcg with B-Complex

Q: How do you take this one? A: Take 1 mL under the tongue, up to twice a day. Shake it first, hold it there for about 10 seconds, then swallow.

Q: Does this just give B12, or is it a full B complex too? A: It’s both. You get 2,000 mcg of B12 as cyanocobalamin, plus 4 mg of B1, 10 mg of B6, 20 mg of niacinamide, 300 mcg of biotin, and the other B vitamins too.

Q: I've heard liquid B vitamins absorb better. Is that why people choose this? A: Yeah, that’s part of it. It’s liquid and sublingual, so it’s easier if you don’t like pills. But for a lot of people, the bigger reason is the dose and that it gives you the full B complex, not just B12.

Q: Should I take it with food or on an empty stomach? A: Either is usually fine. Since you hold it under the tongue first, most people just take it whenever they’ll remember. If B vitamins bother your stomach, take it with a meal.

Q: Why does this use cyanocobalamin instead of methylcobalamin? A: Because that’s the form Solgar used for the B12 in this one. A lot of people do fine with cyanocobalamin, but if you specifically want methylcobalamin, you’ll need a different product.

Q: My doctor said biotin can affect lab work. Does that apply here? A: Yes, I’d be careful with that. This one has 300 mcg of biotin per mL, and the bottle says to check with your doctor before lab testing since some supplements can interfere with results.

Q: Can I use this if I'm pregnant, nursing, or on medication? A: Maybe, but check first. Talk to your OB or midwife before starting this one. If you take medication or have a medical condition, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
