  • Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) provides sulfur, which is required for the production of keratin and collagen — two key building blocks for the hair, skin, and nails.*

  • Silicon promotes the body’s collagen production to help maintain skin elasticity and support strong hair and nails.*

  • L-proline plays a role in collagen formation to help maintain healthy skin tissue.*

FAQs About Solgar Skin, Nails & Hair

Q: How do you take Solgar Skin, Nails & Hair? A: Take two tablets a day, preferably with a meal. You can take them both at once or split them up if that sits better with your stomach.

Q: Does this one have biotin in it? A: No. This formula uses 1,000 mg of MSM, plus vitamin C, zinc, copper, silicon, lysine, and proline instead of biotin.

Q: Why does it use MSM and vitamin C? A: It has 1 gram of MSM per 2-tablet serving, which people often take for hair, skin, and nail support. It also has 120 mg of vitamin C, which helps with collagen formation.

Q: I've heard zinc can upset your stomach. Should I take this with food? A: Yes, I would. It has 15 mg of zinc per serving, and zinc can be rough on an empty stomach for some people.

Q: My doctor said to watch copper and zinc. How much is in this formula? A: Per 2 tablets, it has 15 mg of zinc and 2 mg of copper. Since your doctor told you to watch those, I'd check with them before using it.

Q: Are there any medication concerns with this one? A: Yes. Zinc can interfere with some antibiotics and thyroid medication if you take them at the same time, so I'd space them out and ask your pharmacist if you're on prescription meds.

Q: Should I use this if I'm pregnant or nursing? A: I'd wait until you've talked to your OB or midwife before starting this one. Same goes if you have a medical condition or take medications regularly.
