Q: How do you take Acne Essentials? A: Take one capsule twice a day. If your stomach is sensitive, I'd take it with meals.
Q: Does this have zinc in it for breakouts? A: Yes. It has 15 mg of zinc per capsule, and it's zinc glycinate chelate. People usually tolerate that form pretty well.
Q: Why does this one use boswellia and burdock? A: They're in there to help with inflammation and skin support. Each capsule has 50 mg of burdock root extract and 50 mg of boswellia extract. The boswellia is standardized for boswellic acids and AKBA.
Q: Should I be careful with this if I'm pregnant or nursing? A: Yes. It has vitamin A as retinyl acetate at 1,500 mcg per capsule, so I'd talk to your OB or midwife before starting it.
Q: I've heard vitamin A can be too much. Is the amount high? A: It's a moderate amount, not a mega-dose, but you still want to count it with anything else you're taking. Each capsule gives you 1,500 mcg, or 5,000 IU. At two capsules a day, that's 3,000 mcg total.
