FAQs About Plant Therapy Organic Australian Sandalwood Essential Oil

Q: Does this need to be diluted before I put it on my skin? A: Yes. Don’t put it straight on your skin. I’d follow the bottle and mix 6 drops into 2 teaspoons of carrier oil.

Q: What does Australian sandalwood usually help with? A: People usually use it for a grounding aromatic experience and to promote a sense of calm during everyday stress and clear breathing.* On the skin, it’s also used as a gentle astringent for oily and blemish-prone areas.

Q: I've heard sandalwood is good for skin. Is that true with this one? A: Yes, a lot of people use it that way. This one is organic Santalum spicata wood oil, and people often mix it into a carrier oil or facial blend to help tone the skin and support balanced-looking skin when diluted properly.*

Q: Should I diffuse it or use an inhaler? A: Either is fine. For a personal inhaler, the brand suggests 10 drops of sandalwood and 5 drops of neroli, then inhale as needed to promote relaxation during everyday stress.*

Q: Can I take this essential oil internally? A: No. I wouldn’t take this one by mouth. The brand specifically says they don’t recommend ingesting essential oils.

Q: My doctor said to be careful with oils while pregnant. Is this one okay? A: I’d check with your OB or midwife before you start this one. During pregnancy, I wouldn’t guess, even with a single-ingredient oil like organic Australian sandalwood.
