How a body odor capsule works
The active ingredient is Champex, a concentrated extract of the common champignon mushroom. It works on odor compounds in your digestive tract rather than on your skin, which is why it's swallowed rather than applied. Most of the research behind it comes out of Japan, where it's been used for years in elder care settings.
This is not a deodorant and it won't replace one. Think of it as working on a different source of the problem: the odor that comes from inside rather than from bacteria on your skin.
Taking it
Two vegicaps with meals. There's also a second use for it that isn't obvious from the label: you can open one capsule into a little water, rinse for about 30 seconds and spit it out, which some people find helps with breath specifically.
Give it a couple of weeks. This isn't the kind of thing that works the same afternoon.
What's in a capsule
Champex concentrated champignon extract from Agaricus bisporus, plus dextrin and DL-malic acid, in a vegetable cellulose capsule. Thirty servings per bottle at two capsules a serving.
Check with your doctor first if you're pregnant, nursing, taking medication or managing a health condition. Mushroom allergy is the obvious one to think about here.
