In Ayurvedic medicine, nutmeg oil was used for respiratory troubles, fevers, headaches, digestive upset, and more. These days, you’ll find nutmeg essential oil used in natural dental products, soaps, skincare products, and analgesic ointments, as well as in aromatherapy.

In aromatherapy, nutmeg relieves stress by evoking feelings of warmth and comfort. It helps to boost a downcast mood and may increase the activity of neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine. It also stimulates brain activity, lifting mental fatigue and improving memory and focus.*

When diffused before sleep, nutmeg essential oils can act as a sedative, calming and soothing the mind and prompting the body to relax. It’s even reputed to prompt more vivid, detailed dreams!*

Struggling with congestion and a stubborn cough? Nutmeg essential oil can help ease coughs and open bronchial airways for clearer breathing. It will also stimulate better blood flow throughout the body, which makes it an excellent support for those struggling with neuropathy, arteriosclerosis, and other circulation issues.*

Topically, nutmeg essential oils’ ability to stimulate circulation helps you to elevate your skincare routine.
